Established in 1997 to ensure the protection and sustainable development of land, vegetation and water resources.
The Corangamite CMA sits within a boundary stretching from Geelong to Ballarat and along the Surf Coast to Peterborough.
Approximately 508,000 people live in the region’s 13,340 square kilometres of south-western Victoria and 175 kilometres of coastal fringe.

2024- 25 Achievements
- Together with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, we helped keep the Moorabool River flowing during dry conditions through water for the environment and Wadawurrung water.
- The Curdies River Coordinating Committee launched its strategic plan for 2025-2030, outlining a five-year roadmap.
- Worked with Southern Farming Systems and Great South Coast Food and Fibre to implement the regional drought resilience plan actions, sharing knowledge about climate-smart agriculture practices with farmers and industry.
